Ruth Gao came to Jeffersontown in 2017, bought her first house on Stony Brook Drive, and moved in with her adorable cats. Ruth has a background in higher and adult education, and earned a PhD in Educational Leadership in 2020. Ruth has worked everywhere, from the education sector to Chick-fil-A, as Director of Drive-Thru at two locations. The main focus of her career has been a dedication to service and community, which is why she is running to support the families, communities, and local businesses in J-town.

Ruth herself currently owns a small business. She understands the importance of community and support for small, locally owned businesses.

As Jeffersontown continues to evolve and grow, it is necessary to maintain the charm and culture that shaped our historic city. Ruth loves living in Jeffersontown, a community that has welcomed her with open arms. She looks ahead to building a better future in this one-of-a-kind town, and hopes you will join her in that journey!

With a younger generation and their families beginning their futures in Jeffersontown, Ruth believes we need a more youthful presence in our city's council. Having more relatable representation means J-town itself can reflect the growth and opportunity it originally did when James Bruner founded Brunerstown. Residents and visitors alike should enjoy the history and small-town feel.

That is why we need you to help ensure Ruth's voice continues to be heard on the Jeffersontown City Council!
