Ruth Gao came to Jeffersontown in 2017 when she and her husband bought their first house on Stony Brook Drive and moved in with their adorable cats. Ruth has a background in higher and adult education and earned a PhD in Educational Leadership in 2020. Ruth has worked everywhere from the education sector to Chick-fil-A as Director of Drive-Thru at two locations. One through-line throughout her career has been a dedication to service and community, which is why she is now running to support the families, communities, and local businesses in J-town.
As Jeffersontown continues to evolve and grow, it is vital we maintain the charm and culture that shape our amazing city.
Ruth, and her husband, love living in Jeffersontown. It is a city that has welcomed them with open arms, and they are excited to one day raise their children here.
Ruth believes we need younger voices on city council, because many young people and their families are moving to Jeffersontown. With having young representation on city council, the city will be demonstrating their commitment to listening to the needs and concerns of younger residents, because the decisions this governing body makes will impact their futures.
That is why we need you to help ensure Ruth's voice is heard on the Jeffersontown City Council!
